Facing Forward Looking Back

The bronze statue Facing Forward, Looking Back was inspired by my sister-in-law. We were "hiking" by some falls in Oregon and Sue turned around to see if I was coming. In that moment I was struck by the image as an allegory --a women moving forward, looking back to see if those she has taught, nurtured, helped in some way, are moving forward as well. In another way, it is about the woman's own journey -- the future in light of the past.
