Portrait Fees & Procedures
Portrait sculpture is the finest way to preserve the moments of childhood or the memories of parents. Portrait sculptures grow more in personal value with each passing year, finally becoming treasured heirlooms for generations to come. These prices are estimates and include a simple walnut base. More complex wood, marble and stone bases are available. Prices do not include travel, shipping, installation or sales tax, if applicable.
Karen will be able to give you a firm price after speaking with you about your preferences—where the sculpture will be displayed, the complexity of the pose and clothing, the size, the longevity of the finished work, etc.
Karen offers portraits in hydrocal and fired clay, but does not recommend them, as they are easily nicked and damaged. You will also want to consider if you would like more than one of the finished portraits. Payment is broken into two steps, 50% non-refundable down-payment at time of commission with the remainder and expenses paid upon delivery. The prices listed here are for life-size sculptures. Two-thirds life-size, one-and-a-half life-size, and twice life-size portraits are available; please inquire. Each additional person in the portrait is 15% off.
